The participants deliberated on consequences of climate change for livelihoods, agriculture, and water supply and sanitation, and on institutional and technical responses for mitigating the adverse impacts. <br /> <br /> The conference was organized by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), Freshwater Action Network-South Asia (FANSA) and Sindh Coastal Areas Network (SCAN), in collaboration with World Bank. Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad, Deputy Chairman, Pakistan Planning Commission delivered the keynote address. Two technical session of the workshop dealt with  Water scarcity and quality issues in the perspective of Climate Change in Pakistan and  Addressing Climate Change in Sindh Coastal Areas (chaired by Dr. Imtiaz Alvi, Senior Institutional Development Specialist, The World Bank, Pakistan, Islamabad). Mr. Zaffar Pervez Sabri, Chief Technical Officer-PPAF, Mr. Tanveer Arif, CEO-SCOPE, Dr. Imtiaz Alvi and Mr. Faisal Khan, CEO-AKPBS made presentations, and several water and environment experts spoke on the occasion. The conference was attended by large number of representatives of civil society from all provinces, members of academia and senior policy makers in the Government. <br /> </span></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html>
