This beautiful subject has now got recognition in all aspects of human life like basic sciences, engineering, technology, information technology, bio-sciences, environmental sciences, social sciences etc. The power of mathematics is felt like never before.
Mathematics is highly advanced and developed discipline of the basic sciences. The study of Mathematics is both exciting in its own right and enormous in its applications. Mathematicians have an opportunity to make a lasting contribution on the society in diverse fields of human interest.
 
Rapid technological advances require professionals to lead in emerging disciplines of 21st Century. The need for improved development in the high-end technology areas can hardly be over-emphasized. One of the main factors associated with this is the use of IT based techniques in teaching and research of Mathematics. The Department of Mathematics takes the responsibility to address all such challenges.
