The CIIT has its principal campus
at Islamabad and another five campuses at Lahore, Wah, Attock, Abbottabad and Sahiwal.
The campus at Islamabad is operational since 1998. More campuses are planned to
be started in near future.
As we begin the new period, we once again confirm our commitment to make CIIT one
of the best Institutes of academic learning and research in the world. With regard
to this, we recognize the need to revise our strategies for promoting greater international
exchange and to overcome the upcoming challenges in higher education.
It was to meet this need that an International Liaison Office (ILO) was set up in
July 2007 under the vision of Rector CIIT to look after the CIIT’s international
collaborations with foreign institutions/universities. This office started out with
a small team of three officers headed by an Advisor. Two years down the road, today
ILO has grown exponentially and is projected to grow further as work in the office
is going to be restructured on geographic/functional basis. The vision for ILO is
derived from the vision 2020 of CIIT, in which ILO would strive to reap benefits
from the phenomena of internationalization of education and thereby increase the
overall standard of education imparted at CIIT. Till date CIIT holds 35 international
MoUs with reputed foreign universities/institutions.
The establishment and planning of the International Liaison Office reflects the
overall purpose and vision of the CIIT to form an academic community that maintains
the highest academic standards, as well as the greatest possible diversity among
its students and scholars and its different disciplines.
The most important goal of the CIIT at present is to continue flexible approach
to anticipate and meet the challenges of future technologies and diversity in education.
To realize this goal, we at the International Liaison Office intend to increase
our efforts to develop programs for further international exchange. Through further
research, we aim to learn more about international exchange, so as to provide the
efficient services necessary to facilitate the smooth operation of our programs.
In the time to come, ILO will keep striving to make CIIT truly international. This
would entail conceiving MoUs with reputed universities located in all regions of
the world. Further ILO will keep actively implementing these MoUs to ensure that
student/faculty exchanges, joint research, exchange of information, arrangement
of conferences, etc. do take place effectively. Simultaneously ILO would facilitate
foreign visits by CIIT officials and make every effort to make possible the visits
of foreign delegations and dignitaries.
