Academic Programs Offered
Following undergraduate Programs are being offered to prospective students during Spring-2010 and Fall-2010 semesters:
1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Computer) Engineering: BS (CE)
Computer Engineering is an enormously vibrant area of study. It focuses on the design, analysis and application of the computer system. CE is a practical field intended to solve real world problems by combining ideas from engineering with basic science. CE can broadly be described as an amalgam of electronics engineering, with major emphasis on digital electronics, computer architecture and interfacing, communication and computer science. The ratio of electronics and computer science courses in this discipline vary from university to university. During the first year, reinforcement in science and mathematics is provided. During the second and third year, graduates will be reinforced with the Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering fields. In the final year, reinforcements on Electronics and Computer Engineering are intensified. The Computer Engineering Graduates have excellent career prospects. Manufacturing Industry, Banks, Telecom Industry, commerce and other government and non-government organizations rely heavily on computers and they increasingly need the services of computer engineers to design, develop and support computer based applications.
2. Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Telecommunication) Engineering: BS(TE)
The Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical-Telecommunication offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is in line with the urgent demand for engineers well versed in Communication Engineering. The program is an integration of Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Engineering. The program aims to conduct work in technology assessment for commercial and government telecommunication systems. The first two years of the curriculum is similar to the courses provided for Bachelor of Computer Engineering. The last two years are equipped with the latest specialized telecommunication courses such as optical communication systems, wireless communication systems and radar, navigational aids, radio and television technologies. Today Telecom Engineers from CIIT are proudly playing a vital role in this thriving industry.
