Message from the Editor

With the start of the new spring semester, we at the department of Electrical Engineering, CIIT Islamabad are ambitious in setting a new bar in academic excellence. Our targets are a better learning environment, excellent research culture and professional grooming of our students. But dreams and ambitions alone cannot bring success. Although setting goals and targets are an important part of being successful but these are not enough. However, when defined and coupled with determination, the road to success becomes a far easier journey. With this spirit of determination we have started working for this semester. This is also evident in the multitude of workshops, seminars, field trips and industrial visits organized by the department in the previous semester and especially in the summer break.

This maiden issue of the departmental online newsletter of Electrical Engineering, Islamabad is being published with the aim to reflect this extra-ordinary effort by the faculty, staff and students of the department.

In this regard, I would like to thank Dean Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Shahid Khan and Head EE Islamabad, Dr. Shahzad Malik for their guidance. Mr. Rana Liaqat Ali, Mr. Khurram Saleem Alimgeer, Mr. Ahsen Mirza, Mr. Syed Mazahir Abbas, Mr. Shahzad Asif, , Mr. Tariq Bashir, Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Niazi, Mr. Habib Ahmed Noor, Mr. Abrar Ahmed, Mr. Tariq Mehmood and Ms. Madiha Mushtaq for providing data, text and event pictures for the newsletter. Mr. Ahsen Mirza, for reviewing the whole content of the newsletter and Mr. Habib Ahmed Noor, for help and advice in design and format of the newsletter.
