About EE at CIIT
Department of Electrical Engineering was initially established as the Computer Engineering Department at the Johar campus, Islamabad in year 1999. Along with hiring faculty renowned for its expertise in research and application of technology, we established state-of-art laboratories equipped with latest and highly sophisticated equipment where students spend time to innovate and engineer basic as well novel ideas to supplement the theoretical course work.
Following the accomplishments of Computer Engineering program, CIIT took a lead and became one of the premier institutions to launch Telecom Engineering program in the region. With the inclusion of Telecom Engineering program, the initially established Computer Engineering Department was transformed into the Department of Electrical Engineering.
The department started with a humble intake of 31 students but with our main focus and effort to meet the growing demands of industry and emphasis on the quality of education and skill, Computer Engineering, as a result was granted HEC’s recognition in August 2000 and PEC’s recognition in 2003. The quest for improvement in teaching standard continued. With the introduction of Telecom Engineering program, we were able to satisfy the demand of the robust Telecom industry in Pakistan. Our Telecom degree is also HEC and PEC recognized. Today our Telecom Engineers are proudly playing a vital role in this thriving industry.
